In your opinion, which is easier to learn and why?
Does it depend on what you already speak?
    Which language would you advise?

it certainly easier and faster to learn Spanish
I am sure. Spanish is speak as it is written, as it is spelled. German and italian too.
Not the case of French. and I don’t mention English which is a nightmare for beginners in that aspect.

But the main question could be : Why do I would like to learn that language. Don’t worry too much about the difficulties.
it is a choice for several years. it has to be useful, interesting for you, and used in your life, otherwise you ll forget it.
the principle is “use it or loose it”
That’s why I focused on English 4 years ago. extremely useful for me.

I think, that both French and Spanish are very interesting languages! If you really want to learn French or Spanish it will be easier for you to do it.
From my point of view, French is easier to learn, but it is more difficult in practice and pronunciation. Both languages are amazing and beautifull!
