Hand over means “give” It is a phrasal expression and is colloquial. When I think of this expression I imagine two contexts:
- theives robbing a bank “HAND OVER THE CASH AND NO ONE GETS HURT”
- when you want something that someone doesn’t want you to see, an embarrassing photo for example. “Come on, hand it over”
