Earlier, when I read an English book I always looked for every new word in my dictionary. But! It was very uneasily. Your reading was moving ahead like a tortoise.

After a wile I have read some clever advises 🙂 . You need to look in your dictionary if you cannot guess the meaning of that word and the sense of the sentence is losing. If you can guess or understand what that sentence about – do not use any dictionary. Then your reading will be much faster.

Now I use my dictionary when I write something. And for learning I watch English-Russian animations/films/cartoons. First – in Russian, then – in English. I can re-watch English version five or more times, repeating hard moments. After that I fluently understand 92 % of the animation and take the next one. This is the method I chose. How about yours? 🙂

And I still could not find English-Russian exchange (with English-native person). It is rather difficult…

    Important!
[a] is like in the word ‘cup’
[u] is like in the word ‘put’

“У природы нет плохой погоды, всякая погода благодать” Who know this phrase in English, please post it. My interpretation is
‘The Nature does not have bad weather, every weather is godsend’

There is a wonderful song in Russian about it. I posted its karaoke in ‘Karaoke grope’ for Russian-learners.

    Sorry, It is me again…
And a check-box with Delete button, if you do not want this topic in your list any more.

It looks like I just do not see all the possibilities Your Site and Forum has. FAQ would be the most useful, I think, ‘one-o-one’, ‘для чайников’. 🙂

And it is very useful to have a list of all your forums topics you have part in, not only your created ones.

    Thanks.

    Good day!

It would be nice if we could have an edit button under every message we wrote.

It is very interesting to have such kind of experience. To teach about Russian in English. Ask any question!

I saw one wrong spelling guess – guest 🙂 , but I did not read the full post.

I see either that there are many people with teaching English experience in their countries but they are not English-native people. So am I 🙂

A lot of teachers but no natives. A curious situation. Как говорят по-русски, “днем с огнем не сыскать” товарищей с родным английским.

My dictionary says English-natives are ‘as rare as hen’s teeth’ 🙂 The whole world hammers at them with its English. 🙂 Something like that…

Take it all with a grain of salt. Не судите строго 🙂 It’s all the dictionary fault 🙂

Thanks for your trouble. It is great if all the others see this view.

Now my page became better than four hours ago.

It is no use worrying about that.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, no. I have my profile text under the first box with native language, learning language, last time etc.
OK. May be it is my notebook fault. Messages buttons cover first box in members’ pages, too. It might be different on big screens.
Doesn’t matter. I can use Ele like that.
